Education and Philosophy

I am a Certified Holistic Nutritionist and a Health and Wellness Coach through American Fitness Professionals and Associates.

My philosophy on nutrition is that food can be our medicine. I believe that the body is intelligent and has the power to heal if given the right tools and resources. I believe that your body is designed to feel incredible and that “everything looks normal” should not be the standard. Getting to the root cause instead of band-aiding symptoms is the goal with all of my clients.

I teach with a very individualized approach as there is not a one size fits all diet for health and healing. Eating nutrient-dense foods filled with delicious vegetables, fruits, healing fats, and well-sourced proteins will give you the minerals, antioxidants, amino and fatty acids, and vitamins needed to support your body. Most of us just need help figuring out what our body is trying to tell us and what it needs. That’s where I come in!

FAQs

 

Will I need to buy supplements for my coaching program?

I teach with a foods-first approach however, supplementing with quality supplements can speed up healing and be very beneficial. Since my programs are not a one size fits all my recommendations will really depend on your unique needs and what you are wanting to work on. If you didn’t want to supplement at all, that is okay too.

Do I have to be local to do coaching?

No! All coaching sessions are done virtually so you don’t need to leave the comfort of your own home, get a babysitter, or spend time driving to and from me. This makes getting the help you need even more convenient!

Is this an elimination diet program?

No! In my experience, most people won’t stick to a strict elimination diet and they are not necessary for seeing healing in the body. You might need to cut out certain foods that are triggering to your body or causing inflammation especially if we are focusing on healing your gut. In that case, we would work to figure out which foods were causing issues for your body, not just take out a ton of foods that are common culprits.

My approach is more focused on “swapping” not “eliminating.” It’s about finding better choices for foods you love and can tolerate well. If you decide to add on a hair scan to your program we can see what foods might be issues for your body instead of guessing.

Do I have to Track all my food/log macros for this program?

Only if you want to! I might recommend tracking for a short period of time to try and pin-point symptoms and figure out if you have food intolerances (I prefer this over a strict elimination diet). I don’t recommend tracking long term as we try to make eating a place where your body is in rest and digest, not stressed out and in fight or flight.

How long are the coaching sessions?

Sessions are around 45 minutes.

What does a coaching session look like?

Either weekly or biweekly we will jump on a virtual face-to -ace call with each other. At your initial appointment, we will go in-depth with your goals, roadblocks, and in what ways you are willing to reach those goals and then come up with an action plan and protocol. Each week we will check in with your goals, build onto those goals, put together your meal plan together, go over your protocol, and give you the opportunity to ask questions. You’ll leave each session with a goals sheet, goals tracker on my online platform, meal plan, and any other applicable handouts for your health.

What is the benefit to adding a DNA hair scan to a coaching program?

The hair scan is an extremely helpful tool that allows us to “test and not guess” when it comes to what your body really needs help with and the most important things for you to focus your efforts on. Read more about the Epigenetic Hair Scan here.
